The hermetic fire door in general (M5 T30, M5 T60, M5 120, M5 360)

Markus supplies a fire door that hermetically seals, which, therefore, generates a number of additional benefits.

The additional oxygen supply for the seat of a fire will be localised and it will, therefore be starved due to the excellent sealing properties of the door. Localising the oxygen and ensuring smoke and soot remains inside will prevent the fire from spreading and will hugely reduce consequential loss.

There is also the risk to people in the immediate surroundings as well as the material loss that may ensue. People will benefit from an escape route that is free from smoke, toxic fumes and gases for the longest period that is possible. Should we consider that smoke spreads 10 times as fast as fire, it is not strange that most victims are more prone to succumb from suffocation, which is a direct result of excessive smoke development and the super-fast spread of toxic gases.

A Markus hermetic door, however, will counteract this for increased periods of time.

Limited smoke development will give those escaping a free way out and emergency response members free access. A clear seat of the fire will ensure the area to be extinguished is kept small and will considerably limit water damage.
