The Markus M5 can be easily automated either when it is installed or at a later stage (type Max o4). It is always technically possible to start using “non-touch” systems when the actual virus transfer is unknown.

The door structure will always be on the “correct side” of the operating room and can be easily cleaned, which is an important consideration.

Considering that actual energy consumption, correctly following hospital procedures by nursing staff, counteracting infections, linking of door positions (interlocking), product reliability and a silent and inconspicuous operation are valuable criteria for a hospital to arrive at a balanced decision.
